Red Sky

Man in a boat with a dream to sail from Berkley down to Baja, and onward,
Through the canal, and around, and across the sea to Turkish Islands.

So, so far, so good, but sailors always were misunderstood.
Red, red sky at night; that is their delight.
Red sky in the morning, you just ignore the warning. Sail on, sail on, through dawn

Just two days out and a storm reminds you who’s in charge here: not you, not now.
Can’t get the mainsail down, engine’s out, oh no! Here come the tugboat pirates.

Sailors beware. There be monsters.
The Hydra’s heads they multiply as you do battle
She drags you down and down until you’re done
Full fathom five thy father lies. Those are pearls that were his eyes
You’ll know him when you see him, he’ll be there.

Man in a boat’s gonna take you cross the river to the other side…
Man in a boat’s gonna take you cross the river to the other side…
